A TEACHER has been suspended after allegedly ranting about the Royal Family in front of a class full of kids.

It’s understood he was pulled up by bosses earlier this week over claims he made “inappropriate comments” about the Royals.

The teacher, who has not been named, has been suspended by North Lanarkshire Council and was reported to the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS).

The alleged incident is said to have taken place during a modern studies lesson at Wishaw’s Clyde Valley High School last Thursday.

It’s understood the teacher had been discussing the media coverage following the Queen’s death when the alleged comments were made.

It’s claimed he was hauled in front of bosses on Monday and escorted off campus following complaints from a parent.

He won’t be able to return to the classroom until the GTCS decides whether he has breached professional standards.
